Lambda Chi Alpha was initially chartered at Texas Tech University in the spring of 1976 as the Sigma-Nu chapter of the fraternity. The chapter was deemed inactive by the fraternity’s board of directors in 2001 at the request of the active and alumni members of the chapter, with the intent to recolonize in the future.
The fall semester of 2012 marked the recolonization of Lambda Chi Alpha at Texas Tech University. As of the end of the 2013-2014 school year 67 new members have been initiated. The fraternity is steadily growing and creating a solid foundation on which we will continue to build.
On September 20th, 2014 the colony received it’s charter to become an actual chapter. The chapters designation is now Sigma Nu Zeta instead of Sigma Nu colony.
